CIB

Data Sheet (PDF)

Product Manual (PDF)

CIB Comparator Interface Module connects a voting system comparator to the MCN Network. It extends the comparator lights and switches over the network to a remote display position (either a PC or a console display). The CIB Comparator Interface Module is compatible with:
  • Conventional Systems
  • Trunking Systems
  • Motorola Digitac, Spectra-TAC, and TAC Comparators
  • JPS SNV-12 Voters
  • M/A-Com / Ericsson / G.E. Voters
  • Doug Hall Electronics 4RV/2 Voters

IIB

Data Sheet (PDF)

Product Manual (PDF)

The IIB Input/Output Interface Module connects a parallel operator display device (such as a console) to the MCN Network. The IIB is used with AIB ASTRO-TAC™ Comparator Interface Modules to provide voting status indications (Vote, Receive, Disable, and Fail) to a console. It also allows the console operator to Force-Vote and Disable receivers. The IIB can also be used with CIB Comparator Interface Modules to extend the comparator display and control for other comparators (Digitac, Spectra-TAC, TAC, and EGE) over a long distance.

IOB

The IOB Input/Output Interface Module connects I/O devices (such as relays) to the MCN network. The IOB is used with an MCN Network Interface to create an I/O control system.

MCN System Extenders

EXB-IM

Data Sheet (PDF)

Product Manual (PDF)

The EXB-IM System Extender Modules are used in pairs to connect two MCN networks together over an analog phone line, extending the length of an MCN network beyond 4000 feet. The EXB-IM System Extender Modules allow the control of multiple remote comparators from a central site, simultaneously monitoring and controlling Master and Slave comparators in wide-area voting systems.

Multiple pairs of EXB modules can connect multiple MCN networks in real time, spanning distances from a mile to worldwide. Data transfer between distant networks is "live", delayed only by the transit time through the EXB modules and the data rate across the link.

The EXB System Extender Modules use any analog or digitized analog channel that is capable of carrying V.32 terbo standard modem signaling, including standard 2-wire or 4-wire leased lines.

EXB-AY

Product Manual (PDF)

The EXB-AY System Extender Modules are used in pairs to connect two MCN networks together over asynchronous serial channels, extending the length of an MCN network beyond 4000 feet. The EXB-AY System Extender Modules allow the control of multiple remote comparators from a central site, simultaneously monitoring and controlling Master and Slave comparators in wide-area voting systems.

Multiple pairs of EXB-AY modules can connect multiple MCN networks in real time, spanning distances from a mile to worldwide. Data transfer between distant networks is "live", delayed only by the transit time through the EXB modules and the data rate across the link.

The EXB-AY System Extender Modules can utilize microwave channels, digital channel banks, or T1/E1 digital phone lines.

EXB-IP

Data Sheet (PDF)

Product Manual (PDF)

The EXB-IP System Extender Modules are used to connect multiple MCN networks together over an IP network, extending the length of an MCN network beyond 4000 feet. The EXB-IP System Extender Modules allow the control of multiple remote comparators from a central site, simultaneously monitoring and controlling Master and Slave comparators in wide-area voting systems.

The EXB-IP System Extender Modules use any 10Base-T copper-based Ethernet channel. The EXB-IP utilizes the IP protocol over Ethernet media and can coexist on a wide-area IP network with other IP devices such as workstations, servers, and IP routers. Additionally, they can exist on dedicated Ethernet IP networks, where the only devices on the network are EXB-IPs and (optionally) physical layer hubs.

EXB-FI

The EXB-FI System Extender Modules are used in pairs to connect multiple MCN networks together over an IP network, extending the length of an MCN network beyond 4000 feet. The EXB-FI System Extender Modules allow the control of multiple remote comparators from a central site, simultaneously monitoring and controlling Master and Slave comparators in wide-area voting systems.

The EXB-FI System Extender Modules use any 10Base-FI fiber-based Ethernet channel, The EXB-FI utilizes the IP protocol over Ethernet media and can coexist on a wide-area IP network with other IP devices such as workstations, servers, and IP routers. Additionally, they can exist on dedicated Ethernet IP networks, where the only devices on the network are EXB-FIs and (optionally) physical layer hubs. The most common occurrence of a dedicated network is a set of EXB-FIs connected with dedicated fiber.

Product Manual (PDF)

Routers are used with the MCN Remote Comparator Display system for the following purposes:
  • To increase the number of I/O Modules (CIBs, AIBs, IOBs, etc.) past 20.
  • To establish a high-speed (1.25 Mb) backbone network.
  • To provide access to a high-speed network from a standard speed (78 Kb) HIB module for dial-up applications.
  • To connect local I/O modules to a high-speed backbone in a system that uses high-speed EXB network extender modules.

Transmitter Steering Components

TSAM-1

Data Sheet (PDF)

Product Manual (PDF)

The TSAM (Transmitter Steering Audio Matrix) Module works with Voter Receiver Systems. By monitoring the receive activity at the comparator, the TSAM is able to direct the outgoing transmissions to the transmitter that is geographically closest to the last voted receiver. Using the "Smart Steer" algorithm. the TSAM-1 is unique in the field of Land Mobile Radio.

The TSAM unit extends the reach of multi-transmitter systems automatically by making fullest utilization of the transmitters on the outer fringe of the area. This extends the "talk-out" range of your system at a fraction of the cost of Simulcast equipment.

TIB

Data Sheet (PDF)

Product Manual (PDF)

The TIB TSAM Interface Module connects a TSAM Transmitter Steering Unit to the MCN Network. It Extends the status indication and controls for the Transmitter Steering Unit over the network to a remote display position. The TIB Module is compatible with:
  • CTI’s TSAM Transmitter Steering Unit
  • Motorola TAC Spectra-TAC, and Digitac Comparators
  • Ericsson/G.E. Voters
